Internet satellites: Gold Rush in Orbit

A satellite broadband network called Iris² is to become the second major EU space program for end users alongside the Galileo navigation satellites. By 2027, EU Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton wants to build a European secure Internet for public authorities, industry and citizens from space - in order not to become dependent on Starlink & Co. There are two young companies from Munich that could preempt the EU. They are developing their own large satellite constellations - with different concepts.
