The United States Navy has put Rivada under contract to develop and deliver Virtual Network Operator capabilities over Rivada’s Outernet constellation. Under the first phase of its contract with the U.S. Navy, Rivada will engage in joint engineering cooperation with the Navy to delineate a Virtual Network architecture specifically designed to meet the Navy’s needs on the Rivada Outernet.

Rivada Space Networks and e3 Systems, a leading maritime Superyacht integrator and connectivity provider, have signed an MoU to provide innovative, fast, secure and seamless communications for the Superyacht sector. Rivada has now lined up more than US$13 billion of business globally for its unique LEO network.

Rivada has now secured market access for its Outernet constellation across the Nordic region, including Finland, Sweden and Denmark, bringing the total number of countries with market access to 20. Success in obtaining the national rights to establish and operate a new satellite communications network in low earth orbit is important for the Nordic region particularly in the light of increasing attacks on shared critical infrastructure.

Rivada has in the last year secured market access for its Outernet constellation in 18 countries and on every continent. These countries include U.K., Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Colombia, Namibia, and more are in the pipeline.

Unlike other satellite constellations partially dependent on fiber interconnected ground stations, the Outernet moves data across a high-capacity, totally private, and secure optically interlinked satellite network, never touching the ground. Outernet users access its satellite network directly via inter-company terminals, ensuring absolute security and protection from terrestrial fiber disruption.

This discussion centred on the key drivers of development and innovation in the satellite industry, emphasising that customer needs are the main motivators, reflecting a shift from prioritising throughput to enhancing resilience.
