The Outernet for Government & Defense
The Outernet was built in response to exactly this environment. A constellation of satellites at 1,050km altitude, interconnected by laser links to form a free-standing optical backbone in orbit. No ground-based intermediate touchpoints. No public internet exposure. No shared infrastructure to compromise.
Advanced in-orbit routers connect via intersatellite laser links, creating a genuinely private network in space. User terminals access the network from anywhere on the globe, and data travels from origin to destination entirely over the Outernet — across any domain, without ever touching a ground station or third-party network along the way.
