We have the perfect combination of the dynamism of a start-up environment combined with hugely experienced team of people who are experts in their field. And with a flat organizational structure, doors are always open which enables fast and easy collaboration and decisions."

Director Corporate Communications, Communications Team

How did you end up in the space industry?

What’s your role at Rivada Space Networks?

It has always been my dream to either become an author or work in the book industry. When I did an internship in the PR department of a publishing house, I wasn't really hooked but I discovered that I liked communications in general and was already very interested in social media. After graduating, I applied for a PR internship, but I never intended to work for technology companies. I eventually discovered that I preferred B2B because I felt it required much more precise communication skills and creativity than tourism, beauty, or finance (which were the alternatives). Four years later, I immersed myself in the aerospace industry for the first time.

I always wanted to be a pilot. I got my Private Pilot’s License in 1994 and finally got the opportunity to train for a Commercial license in 2001. Unfortunately, due to 9/11, there were no longer any jobs available, so I returned to building aircraft instead of flying them.

What do you like best about your job at Rivada?

Working with highly experienced experts from all areas of the space industry helps me to learn something new every day. The world of space is complex, multi-faceted and evolving rapidly, so it never gets boring. I also enjoy the creative freedom as we design branding and communications from scratch and have the opportunity to develop our own corporate culture. Best of all, RSN has attracted a great team of warm-hearted people who all have exciting stories to tell.

What was the worst job you ever had?

During my time at university, I had a part-time job where my only task was to put marketing brochures into envelopes and label them. I didn’t even have anyone to talk to. The upside was that I had enough time to listen to audio books. I remember one listening to “It” by Stephen King, which was not the best decision as it was dark outside, and I was alone in the office and of course scared of the slightest noise!
